Artist Bio A native of the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, Mark has lived the past 12 years in Raleigh, North Carolina. He began his wildlife art career at an early age, perfecting a discipline of acrylics on canvas and non-traditional surfaces such as river stone, rough-cut pine and sandblasted redwood. Mark's research and art adventures to sketch and photograph wildlife have taken him to the Masai Mara in Kenya's Savanna, the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, Alaska's Baranoff Islands and annual trips to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and many remote wilderness areas in Montana. He is a participating artist in various wildlife art shows across the country including the Florida Wildlife and Western Art expo, Raleigh's Artsplosure and his art has been exhibited in galleries in the Adirondack mountains of New York as well as in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. Mark has been a featured artist for such organizations as Quail Unlimited, NC and national and Ducks Unlimited, NC. His work has been featured in the North Carolina State Wildlife Calendar and he has had several appearances as a guest artist on the nationally syndicated PBS show, "Paint!Paint!Paint!". "I research all my subject matter and so my artwork has taken me on one great adventure after another. I have met some truly special people along the way." |
